Sindh Police launches digital driving license system

IG Sindh Allah Dino Khawaja has inaugurated a new computerized driving license system today.

The ceremony was held at Driving License Office, Clifton Branch. IG Sindh said that this step was taken in order to deal with fake licenses and enhance transparency. The new licensing system will be linked to National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA). The old licenses will be renewed in 15 minutes while new license will be issued in about 40 minutes using the new technology.

A smartphone application ‘Driving License Sindh’ was introduced earlier this year for the convenience of Sindh citizens. People will be able to get any information about the licenses through the app or SMS alert, thus saving time and energy wasted by waiting in the long queues. These computerized licenses will be acceptable globally.

Punjab has Driving License Issuance Management System (DLIMS) which automates the processes of license issuance, upgrades and renewal. The system uses state of the art technology to provide quick service to the public.

Citizens of Sindh will be able to submit the license fee in any bank. Online payments are also acceptable.
