Sima Kamil has assumed her new role as CEO and President of UBL and will be heading operations of UBL in the country.
Board of Directors of UBL have expressed good wishes for Sima Kamil and assured full cooperation.
Upon assuming her new role, Sima Kamil said, “UBL was rightly judged Pakistan’s Best Bank 2016 and even more than this, UBL today is a force to be reckoned with in the banking industry. It stands as a financial giant in Pakistan that has continuously demonstrated a strong and robust track-record, a true embodiment of its progressive and innovative spirit”.
Sima joined UBL on 28 March 2017 as Deputy CEO. Since then she has been working with support and control functions of the bank. Moreover, she met with stakeholder and customers of UBL and assured them of bank’s support.
She said, “ UBL is providing best customer services to its customers”.
At the start of her career, she worked with American Express Bank and later on she went on to work at ANZ Grindlays and Standard Chartered.
More recently, she was leading HBL’s Women’s Market Program to promote HBL as leading bank for women in the country.
Sima Kamil has earned a business degree from Kingston University in the UK.
It is to be noted here that Sima Kamil is the first women to lead any major Pakistani bank.
Furthermore, recently UBL has launched Pakistan’s first Digital Branch. This pilot branch is located at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA-City Campus), Karachi. A completely automated facility, the Digital Branch runs without the physical presence of any bank staff.
