Siemens Pakistan strengthens local manufacturing

The German engineering group Siemens has boosted its local manufacturing with Pakistan by the production of latest technology in air-insulated switchgear, the NXAIR. NXAIR is produced in Siemens Karachi factory. This medium-voltage switchgear is an essential part of efficient, reliable and safe power distribution in cities, infrastructure, buildings and industrial plants.

Helmut von Struve, Managing Director of Siemens Pakistan said:

“We’re proud to be supporting ‘Made in Pakistan’ with this new production line at our Karachi factory, bringing the very latest in switchgear technology to the local market. The new facility also enables us to strengthen skill development and knowledge transfer, bolstering our local talent pool and further positioning Pakistan as a regional leader in manufacturing.”

The brand new manufacturing product will meet the Siemens global standards and will apply infrastructure growth in Pakistan. It allows Siemens to streamline its projects in the country, bringing technology to the local market and by supporting economic development with knowledge and technology transfer.

The latest version of NXAIR provides reliable power to data centers, manufacturing units, electrical utilities, petrochemicals and oil and the gas company. NXAIR switchgear provides efficiency, flexibility, high personal safety and low operation and maintenance costs for different sectors.

If required, NXAIR can also be custom-designed to meet individual requirements including challenging climatic conditions with extreme temperatures and high air humidity, as well as in cases of heavy pollution of ambient air with dust, gases, salts or chemically active vapors.

Siemens has been a technology contributor to Pakistan’s economic development since the early 1920s, and currently employs more than 700 people across Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. Siemens Pakistan is one of the largest providers of engineering services and management in the country. It has various ongoing projects in healthcare, defense development, energy telecommunications, computer expansion and heavy construction management.
