From the industry that brought you the hailed Brazuca comes another landmark achievement. Keeping their tradition alive of being extremely self-sufficient, Sialkot’s business community is now moving forward with launching their own private airline.
The private airline project called Air Sial, inaugurated in August 2015, has been undertaken by the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI). It was announced today in an official meeting that the airline will take to the skies at this year’s end. The announcement was made by Fazal Jilani, patron-in-chief of Air Sial and President of SCCI:
“We are hopeful that Air Sial will be able to begin its operations by the end of current year after the completion of registration process. The airline’s official logo will be unveiled soon. We had been deliberating to launch our own airline for a long time as Sialkot’s business community frequently travels abroad and domestically. Keeping this in mind, we decided to bring an airline which could provide better travel facilities to exporters as well as other passengers. Air Sial will offer five star services at an affordable price.”
Registrations for the board of directors has already begun. The SCCI is considering offers from various world class airplane manufacturers to get planes made for Air Sial. Air Sial management is reportedly mulling over a proposal to buy Boeing 727-800 aircraft for its domestic and international flight operations.
The Sialkot community should be hailed for this brilliant initiative. Sialkot’s small business industry was previously responsible for constructing their city’s first international airport which will also serve as the launch ground for Air Sial. Furthermore which will also serve as the inaugural place for Air Sial. Furthermore they have also constructed a dry port and all main inter-city roads.
