Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has officially launched Uraan Pakistan, a comprehensive five-year National Economic Transformation Plan (2024-2029), aimed at propelling the nation towards sustained high economic growth.
The initiative which has been formulated through a process that involved consultation with public and private actors is anchored on the strong 5Es Framework comprising Export, E-Pakistan, Environment and Climate Change, Energy and Infrastructure, and Equity, Ethics, and Empowerment. These guidelines will form the basis of the 13th Five-Year plan development of Pakistan.
The objectives of the program are to raise exports to $ 60 billion annually by 2029, increase the number of IT graduates and focus on IT exports for the development of the digital economy. The government’s vision is to build the foundation for the economy of $1000 billion by 2035 with emphasis on eradicating poverty and illiteracy.
In the newly formed Uraan Pakistan, focus will be laid on sustainable development, future social and economic resource mobilisation and the eradication of the emerging critical economic issues through sustainable economic growth policies. The launch of Uraan Pakistan marks a significant milestone in Pakistan’s journey toward economic transformation and development.
