SECP to open help centers for new business owners across Pakistan

Written by Sarwat Fatima ·  49 sec read >

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP)  will open up new and existing business facilitation centres across the country. The first of these centres will be launched right after Ramadan at the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry. These help centres will provide required information and assistance to both new and existing companies regarding company incorporations, the submission of applications, and returns through eServices. Business owners will be able to use hardware/software at these centres to submit applications, returns, and forms through eServices.

SECP felt the need to open facilitation centres to simplify the mandatory online filing of returns and promote corporatisation in the country. They will establish the first physical one-stop shop at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) then at Karachi (KCCI) and Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI).

In 2008, SECP launched eServices to help business owners register their companies online without visiting the facility in Karachi.

Since 2012 many startups and small businesses have been launched in three of the largest cities in Pakistan – Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. This step from SECP will help out many new business owners in legally setting up their company and getting the right guidance at the right time.
