Scheduled rides are now available for Uber users in Lahore

Uber has rolled out support for scheduled rides for all users in Lahore. They announced upcoming support for scheduled rides a few days ago through their app and it seems that this feature is now ready to be pushed out to all users.

How to schedule a ride?

It is very easy to schedule a ride for a later trip in four simple steps:

  • Select your ride and tap “Schedule a Ride” to request up to 30 days in advance.
  • Set your pickup date, time, location, and destination, and get a fare estimate.
  • Confirm the details of your upcoming trip and tap Schedule. You can edit or cancel at any time before your ride is ready.
  • Uber will send you reminders on the day of the trip and notify you when your ride is on the way. It will also let you know if surge pricing applies.

As you can see from the screenshot above that Uber does not guarantee the availability of a driver. So it remains to be seen how reliable this feature turns out to be for users who regularly plan ahead. In addition to unavailability of drivers, Uber also warns that surge pricing may be applicable according to weather and traffic conditions at the scheduled time.
