Samsung’s cheapest smartphone of 2018 leaks in a new set of press renders

According to the newest renders of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy J4 (2018) have appeared in a leak revealing two color variants. The Korean giant reportedly has plans for more Galaxy J-branded devices such as the new Galaxy J4, which has just leaked out thanks to various press images.

Looking at the pictures, Samsung’s upcoming budget offering will stick to a more traditional 5.5-inch, 16:9 AMOLED display panel. The smartphone features thicker bezels around the display and this allows the Korean manufacturer to place a front-facing fingerprint scanner below the display. There are capacitive buttons present on the front panel instead of the on-screen alternatives like in the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus. The top display bezel features a front-facing 5-megapixel camera along with an LED flash.

The Galaxy J4 2018 is expected to include Samsung’s quad-core Exynos 7570 processor clocked at a speed of 1.4GHz. This will be powered with either 2GB or 3GB of RAM depending on the user. The smartphone is rumored to have a 16GB of internal storage and will be expandable via microSD.

Looking at the rear side of Samsung Galaxy J4 (2018), a very simplistic plastic build is present along with a vertical camera module that is rumored to be a 13-megapixel rear sensor and an LED flash. Towards the right of the camera setup is a small rear-facing speaker. A small slit can also be seen on the left side of the panel, suggesting the rear of the device will be removable in order to give access to the battery. It is rumored to have a 3,000mAh battery.

Although, it’s currently unclear when the new Galaxy J4 will go on sale, but the Korean giant Samsung is holding a launch event next week for the more expensive Galaxy J6 (2018). Hence J4 might also make an official appearance at the event. The smartphone is rumored to be priced at 15,000 rupees ($160).
