Samsung is set to unveil the highly anticipated Galaxy S25 smartphone series and the second-generation Galaxy Ring at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event, scheduled for January 22, 2025, according to DigiTimes Asia.
The new Galaxy Ring is expected to offer two additional sizes, expanding beyond the nine sizes available in the original series. This move is seen as an effort to compete with Oura, a rival brand that offers rings in sizes 4–15. With the Galaxy Ring’s debut in July 2024, the early January release marks a shift in Samsung’s usual product cycle.
The second-generation smart ring is rumored to feature more precise health sensors, enhanced AI capabilities, and a seven-day battery life, regardless of size. However, its NFC functionality remains unconfirmed.
In addition to the smart ring, Samsung is also rumored to reveal its first augmented reality (AR) smart glasses at the event. Developed in collaboration with Qualcomm, the glasses are expected to incorporate Google’s Gemini AI model and weigh around 50 grams.
As part of the Galaxy S25 series, Samsung is expected to showcase an AI Agent powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen Elite processor. This AI system will be integrated into Samsung’s broader ecosystem, offering personalized recommendations for clothing and transportation.
