Samsung To Launch First Tri Fold Smartphone In Late 2025

Samsung is set to launch an innovative ‘triple fold’ smartphone this year, featuring a screen that folds not once, but twice. Unlike Huawei’s S-shaped foldable, reports suggest the company is preparing a G-type design with a screen that folds inward twice.

Considering recent challenges faced by Huawei products, including immediate screen breakage upon release, Samsung Electronics is strategically opting for the G-type form factor, known for its durability and reliability, to ensure a flawless experience for consumers.

Samsung Electronics is preparing to introduce an innovative triple-fold smartphone in the latter half of this year, as it expands its innovative foldable phone lineup. The gadget boasts a tri-fold screen design, where the left and right sections elegantly fold inwards. The device’s design ensures that when it is folded, the screen remains shielded within, providing a barrier against external impacts and scratches.

Samsung Display is set to provide the complete range of panels for the forthcoming triple-fold device from Samsung Electronics. At earlier gatherings such as CES and MWC, Samsung Display showcased a smartphone featuring a unique triple-foldable design. The gadget boasts a 10.5-inch display when opened to the left and a 12.4-inch display when opened to the right.

Samsung is anticipated to omit an under-display camera (UDC) in its upcoming foldable device. The UDC technology conceals the camera beneath the display, enhancing content immersion by eliminating lens openings.

The initial production of the triple-fold device is expected to be limited to fewer than 300,000 units. However, the cost of the triple-fold is expected to be elevated owing to the rise in component prices and the implementation of cutting-edge manufacturing techniques.
