Samsung Terminates Employees Over Galaxy S25 Ultra Images Leak

An early setback occurred for Samsung’s much anticipated Galaxy S25 series when unauthorized photographs of the flagship Galaxy S25 Ultra surfaced online. Weeks before its official unveiling at Samsung’s Unpacked event on January 22, 2025, these leaked photos gave an unexpected look at the smartphone.

Although there has been a lot of discussion about recent leaks from different tipsters, the true factor in the firing of multiple Samsung employees was a post on X by @Jukanlosreve that showed pictures of the Samsung Galaxy S25+.

It is purposeful to cover specific regions of unreleased devices in live photos since those areas often contain identifying markings or numbers. Businesses like Samsung can find and fix security breaches using this information because it can be traced back to the leak’s origin.

Even though the photos of the Galaxy S25+ were posted online, Samsung was still able to identify who was responsible for them because the device ID was visible.

Some employees in the phone assembly or manufacturing industries may feel tempted to profit from selling stolen photos of highly anticipated handsets. Nevertheless, there are substantial risks involved, as getting detected can result in losing one’s employment.

The identification numbers seen on the Galaxy S25+ were further emphasized by Max Jambor, editor of @AllAboutSamsung, who helped Samsung identify the employees involved in the leak which ultimately led to their termination, as reported by PhoneArena.

Evan Blass revealed photos of the Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy S25+, along with the announcement date for the Galaxy S25 series, just one day before this happened. Jambor also said that the person whose phone was leaked lost his job. Samsung has not yet made a public announcement about what happened.
