Samsung to launch its own Smart Speaker featuring Bixby

As the competition in Smartphone market is becoming harsh with each passing year, mobile manufacturing giants such as Samsung, Apple are making high-end technology products to earn more revenue and to attract consumers. We reported at the start of the preceding month that Samsung is reportedly making its own smart speaker, which will be powered by company’s digital personal assistant, Bixby. And now the news has been confirmed by Samsung’s mobile division president, DJ Koh, he said that a smart speaker is on its way, and will be launched soon in the market.

While talking to CNBC, he also asserted, “Maybe soon we will announce it. I am already working on it. As I mentioned I wanted to provide a fruitful user experience at home with Samsung devices, and I want to be moving quite heavily on it.”

It is rumored that the smart speaker is named as Vega and would rival Amazon’s Echo, Google’s Home, and Apple’s HomePod. Moreover, the smart speaker will feature Bixby and house a “Quick Commands”— a feature that allows users to create custom voice commands. It acts as an intelligent interface and can be integrated or embedded into other apps as well.

After much delay, Samsung has just released its digital voice assistant in more than 200 countries. Samsung Galaxy S8 is the first Samsung flagship which features Bixby. It is a voice assistant that will work like Apple’s Siri and Microsoft’s Cortana.

Samsung has also confirmed that it will launch a new model of Gear smartwatch. The company has always unveiled Gear smartwatch at IFA event in Berlin, so it is highly expected that the company will unveil the new Gear smartwatch at IFA event. Moving onward, Samsung has released its most awaited flagship Samsung Galaxy Note 8 at an event in New York with a hefty price tag of Rs. 110,000 or $1100.
