Samsung is set to introduce the Fold7 and Flip7, featuring larger displays, in 2025. However, the company seems to be strategizing for an even more significant advancement following the release of these devices. The eagerly awaited Samsung Galaxy Tri-Fold smartphone has been the focus of considerable speculation for an extended period.
This foldable device, which incorporates three displays and two hinges, is anticipated to represent Samsung’s next significant innovation after the triumph of its existing foldable product range. Although official information is limited, DSCC analyst Ross Young has suggested that the tri-fold smartphone is aimed for a release in 2026, potentially positioning it as a competitor to Huawei’s Mate XT Ultimate Design.
In his most recent post on X, Ross Young asserted that Samsung’s Galaxy tri-fold smartphone is anticipated to be released in early 2026. The consultant specializing in display supply chains conveyed this information in response to a user comment on his post on X. It was previously speculated that the handset would make its début in 2025.
If Samsung doesn’t bring the tri-fold next year, I’m upgrading to Fold7 from Fold5 https://t.co/K0DTs8UZmB

Recent speculation suggests that the anticipated triple-folding device is expected to be officially unveiled a few months following the release of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Galaxy Z Flip 6 successors are not expected to launch before the second half of 2025.
Although information regarding the tri-fold Galaxy smartphone is currently limited, previous reports indicate that the device may possess a display measuring between 9 to 10 inches when fully unfolded, and it is anticipated to exhibit a rectangular design. This new smartphone is set to compete with the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate, recognized as the world’s inaugural tri-folding smartphone, which is currently inaccessible to prospective purchasers outside of China.
This development may position Samsung’s highly anticipated tri-folding smartphone as the inaugural model to be available on a global scale. It is noteworthy that the prominent South Korean electronics corporation has recently been awarded a patent by the United States Patent and Trademark Office for a smartphone featuring three displays.
