The South Korean tech giant, Samsung is finally launching its midrange Galaxy S8 Lite which previously appeared in leaks and is quite similar in design to the Galaxy S8 with some mid-range specifications. The smartphone is being launched at Jingdong headquarters in Beijing, China, as indicated by the invites received by media.
The smartphone was previously being referred as the Galaxy S8 Lite but Samsung would actually call this smartphone Galaxy S Light Luxury.
Many rumors have confirmed that Samsung is making a so-called Galaxy S8 Lite version of the last year’s flagship. The smartphone features a quite similar design like in the last year’s flagship Galaxy S8, featuring a 5.8-inch FHD+ Infinity Display. The smartphone also has a physical Bixby button that the company introduced with the Galaxy S8 last year. Galaxy S Light Luxury has a fingerprint sensor which is placed alongside the camera.
The thing to notice here is that this smartphone doesn’t have a heart rate sensor on the other side of the camera sensor. The company has decided to keep that specification to be in a flagship device only. The rumored specs of the smartphone include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
Galaxy S Light Luxury will also feature a 16-megapixel rear and 8-megapixel front camera with a 3,000mAh battery and it will come with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.
The company has invited 100 people for the launch event at its Jingdong headquarters in Beijing today. For now, Samsung might release this device in China only and it will be available in two colors, black, and burgundy red. We don’t know when this device is coming to Pakistan since the company has not released a global launch date yet.
