Samsung redesigns Galaxy Fold, will begin production soon

Not so long ago Samsung rolled out the review units of its new Galaxy Fold device to few of the famous tech bloggers and journalists in the US, who after usage of one or two days started facing breaking issues in the display. After that, the South Korean tech giant delayed its launch and recalled the Fold devices to fix the issue.

Now according to the new report revealed by Bloomberg, Samsung has redesigned the Galaxy Fold device to address the screen durability issues and is said to begin its commercial production soon. The company has still not confirmed the release date of the device.

Samsung has reportedly made many changes to its foldable device, from which the major change is that the company has made the screen’s protective film “flow into the bezels so it would be impossible to peel off by hand”. Previously, the company shipped review units with a top protective film that looked like a removable screen protector, which many of the reviewers removed and in-turn destroyed the screen. But now it will be impossible to remove it.

However, the unit which The Verge received encountered a different problem, which was a strange bulge appear on the display and broke the OLED panel. It is not clear for now whether the re-engineered hinge, flushed with the display would provide any protection against the bulging problem.

We will have to wait for the Galaxy Fold to be released to find out how successful will the device be this time, which is rumored to return sometime this year. We will update you as soon as the release date of the Galaxy Fold will be revealed.
