A video of the upcoming Galaxy Note 9 has surfaced on YouTube. The video shows the phone and all its accessories along with its specs.
There is hardly anything we don’t know about the phone already, courtesy of the leaks and rumors that have been going around for the last 6 months. We know that the Note 9 will be coming in 5 colors and that the S-Pen will have Bluetooth support and other upgrades. Here is a roundup of the video:
The Note 9 has a 6.3-inch Quad HD+ super AMOLED display, which is squared down to 6.2-inch if you discard the curved edges. The phone’s back is confirmed to have a horizontal island housing a dual-lens camera setup and a flash. Below the camera comes the fingerprint sensor, thus confirming rumors that the Note 9’s fingerprint sensor will be placed below the camera setup. Prior to this, the Note 8 had the fingerprint sensor placed beside the camera setup, which made the lens prone to smudges and scratches. The phone is elegantly labeled with “Galaxy Note 9” and has all the usual jargon written on it, including the iconic “Made in Vietnam” near the bottom.
The back camera setup boasts two lenses with a resolution of 12 MP each. Additionally, both the lens have Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). For people who don’t know, OIS is helpful in ensuring that photos are clear. On most occasions, users tend to shake their phone a bit right when they take a photo. As a result, the image gets blurred out (because of the user’s hand shaking). This is where OIS comes in work and clears out the images’ pixels after the picture has been taken. The front camera has an 8 MP lens with autofocus support.
The Note 9 is IP68 certified, meaning that it can withhold its life underwater for more than 30 minutes. The phone has an Iris Scanner and is compatible with wireless charging as well. As evident in the video, a charging pad has not been included in the box. Recently, the renowned leaker Roland Quandt leaked an image of the Wireless Charging Duo, which can reportedly charge the Note 9 and the Galaxy Watch simultaneously.
The phone has the standard AKG-tuned earphones which were first introduced with the Galaxy S8. In the performance realm, the Note 9 has 6 GB RAM and in this particular variant (considering the box has a T-Mobile sticker), a Snapdragon 845 chipset is likely to be used. This is the same variant that retails globally (except for Europe, which is likely to use Samsung’s own Exynos 9820), so it’s quite likely that this is the final thing.
Unfortunately, there has been no word about the phone’s price, so check back later for updates.
