Samsung launches the entry-level Galaxy J2 2017 with 4G

Samsung launched an ultra-low budget phone, the Galaxy J2 with 4G connectivity. Samsung is known for making smartphones in every price category. Be it the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, which is priced over $900 or the newly announced Samsung Galaxy J2 which is expected to be priced around $100.

The Samsung Galaxy J2 comes with a 4.7-inch AMOLED display with 720p resolution. It is nice to see that an ultra-low budget Samsung phone got an AMOLED HD display. Under the hood is an unknown chipset with a 1.3GHz quad-core processor. It packs 1GB RAM (yeah, that’s one of the reasons you are getting the phone for $100) and 8GB internal storage. Thankfully, the storage is expandable by a Micro SD card up to 128GB.

The J2 comes with a 5MP back camera with an LED flash and there is a 2MP front camera and there is no flash on the front. The Galaxy J2 comes with an Ultra Data Saving mode. When this mode is on, the background apps including WhatsApp, Facebook, Messenger and others do not use your mobile data and data will only be used for the app you are currently using. This feature is quite useful where the data is expensive. The J2 comes with 4G connectivity and supports all Pakistani and Indian bands.

The Galaxy J2 2017 comes with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and do not expect to get any update on this phone as Samsung does not focus on delivering updates to low-end devices.

The phone is only available in black and gold colors and it is launched in India for INR 7,390 and is expected to launch in Pakistan in few weeks. Meanwhile, you can check other Samsung mobiles prices across Pakistan.

Moreover, Samsung Galaxy Note 8 got a hefty discount just yesterday, so if you are not looking to buy a low-end phone and want to spend money on a flagship device, it is the right time for you to get the Note 8.
