Samsung has a good news for Galaxy S9/S9+ owners

Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ users have been complaining about call issues since day one, but an update is apparently fixing things at last.

Since their release, the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ have been having issues with call drops and muting during calls, but after the release of this update, this problem will be a thing of the past. Samsung issued an update last month for the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ which brought the latest Android security patch for the month of April without fixing the frustrating call issues.

As of now, a new update has started rolling out worldwide to the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+, bringing some call stability improvements. This update fixes all the call issues that have been plaguing the handsets so far.

Up until now, the call issues have affected many Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ owners worldwide. Samsung released two software updates prior to this one, to fix unresponsive touchscreen issues, however, the call issues persisted. The smartphones would randomly mute the voice of the Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9+ user for up to 20 seconds at a time.

Users also complained that the phone dropped calls, or the calls were so distorted that they barely managed to understand what the other person was saying. Samsung is even facing a lawsuit in Israel because it failed to fix the issue, yet it still kept the devices on sale.

The Galaxy S9 is now getting update number G960FXXU1ARD4, while the Galaxy S9+ is getting G965FXXU1ARD4. The updates are rolling out in various markets as we speak, but the rollout is gradual so it might take a bit more for all devices worldwide to get the treat.

Those who would like to check whether the update is now available for their device can do so by accessing their smartphone’s Settings > Software update > Download updates manually. In another case, you might have to wait for the OTA to reach your device.

Have you experienced any call issues with your Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9+? If so, keep an eye out for the latest update and let us know if it fixes the problem.
