Samsung has already started to work on Galaxy S9 as first leak is already out

Even before the latest flagship from Samsung makes it to the masses, Samsung has already geared itself towards making the Samsung Galaxy S9. New reports say that Samsung has joined hands with Qualcomm to start work on the next Snapdragon Microprocessor, Snapdragon 845, to be used in Samsung Galaxy S9.

The Snapdragon 845 is going to be an updated version of Snapdragon 835 and will feature better optimizations and performances. Although it is still to early to speak on the performance of this smartphone, what we know so far is that the Snapdragon 845 System-on-Chip (SoC) will be fabricated on second-generation 10nm manufacturing process. Samsung recently showed off its second-generation 10nm manufacturing process saying that it will boast about 10% better performance and will be 15% more power efficient.

After the chip is developed by Qualcomm, either Samsung or the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) will start the production of chip on mass scale. The current Snapdragon 835 is the latest chip from Snapdragon that has been fabricated on the first generation 10nm process. These processors are about 27% faster and 30% energy efficient as compared to the ones manufacture on a bit larger process of 14nm. Analysts term Snapdragon 835 as the best processor that is currently in the market.

This might also be worth noting that the big tech giants usually start working on the technologies that are to be used in its upcoming products way before its predecessor models make it to the market. These companies have to do so because many of their new releases, especially from the flagship series, usually pack new technologies being deployed for the first time which have to be developed, prototyped, tested and mass manufactured.
