Samsung Galaxy S9 might be releasing sooner than you think

Samsung has started the production of Exynos chipsets on a mass scale as the release date of Samsung Galaxy S9 nears.

The South Korea based tech giant has announced that its chipset manufacturing units, which make SoCs (System on Chips) for Samsung and Qualcomm both, have already started manufacturing the Exynos chipsets. The company didn’t reveal the name of smartphone which would be powered by these chipsets. It, however, mentioned that these chips will be placed in smartphones which are scheduled for release early next year.

The experts are, hence, pretty much sure that these preparations are being done in line with the release of the next flagship device from Samsung, none other than the Samsung Galaxy S9. The rumors have it that the Samsung Galaxy S9 would most likely be powered either by the Exynos 9810 or by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845.

As far as the specifications of these chipsets are concerned, the said SoC units are being built on the second generation, 10 nm FinFET fabrication technology. Samsung has claimed that the said processors are being modeled under 10LPP (Low Power Plus), a technology that will enable the smartphone to have as much as 15% lower power consumption but 10% more power, when compared to chipsets from its last generation.

Samsung with its long-living 10nm process strategy will continue to work on the evolution of 10nm technology down to 8LPP to offer customers distinct competitive advantages for a wide range of applications,” the Vice President of Foundry Marketing at Samsung Electronics said in a release.

The smartphones from the Samsung’s flagship series are usually released in March every year. However, this time around, these smartphones are expected to be released in February 2018, on the occasion of the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2018).

As far as the other specifications of these smartphones are concerned, the standard S9 model is expected to come with a 5.77-inches of Infinity Display while the up-sized S9+ variant will pack 6.2-inch Infinity Display. Both of these smartphones will come with 4 Gigs of RAM along with a dual camera at the back and will run on Android 8.0 out of the box.
