Samsung is set to unveil its highly anticipated Galaxy S25 series during the Galaxy Unpacked event on January 22, 2025, with the Galaxy S25 Ultra expected to lead the charge. Alongside the standard Galaxy S25 and S25+, the S25 Ultra is rumored to feature cutting-edge innovations, with car crash detection emerging as one of its key distinguishing features. This blog will highlight the key features of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, including the new car crash detection.
The most exciting feature rumored for the Galaxy S25 Ultra is its car crash detection capability. Using data from the phone’s accelerometer, GPS, and a composite sensor, this feature will be able to determine when there has been a heavy impact like in a car accident and call for help. This feature is still under development and is at present non-functional; it will put Samsung right in the middle of Apple and Google both of whom have already integrated such systems in their devices.
Apple unveiled the car crash detection feature in the iPhone 14 series, which relies on motion sensors to detect a crash and call emergency services. Google has also introduced the same on its Pixel devices through activity recognition AI. Samsung’s integration of this life-saving feature into its Galaxy S25 Ultra will set it apart as a leader in smartphone safety.
Here are the list of features that make Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra the flagship devices of Samsung in 2025:
The Galaxy S25 Ultra will feature a more rounded design compared to previous Ultra models, moving away from sharp, Note-style edges. Leaks suggest that the phone will be thinner, with a thickness of 8.4mm and lighter, at 219g due to the use of a thin frame and material such as titanium. This will make the phone easier to grip without compromising on build quality and this will be complemented by second generation Gorilla Armor.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra is likely to come with a 6.8 inches Dynamic AMOLED display with thin edges around the screen to provide users with a wide viewing area. The display will also support high refresh rates thus making scrolling and playing games a breeze.
Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite (or Exynos 2500 in certain regions), the Galaxy S25 Ultra will offer top-tier performance. It will be available in two memory configurations, 12GB or 16GB RAM, to support multitasking and gaming operations. The phone will also boast of having a huge storage capacity that will range from 256 GB to 1 TB.
The camera setup on the Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to have a 200MP primary camera and 50MP ultrawide and telephoto lenses for better zoom. The 50MP telephoto sensor will have 5x hybrid optical zoom and the 10MP periscope lens will have 3x hybrid optical zoom. Such enhancements will enable the possibility of improved picture quality and definition at greater magnifications.
A battery capacity of 5000mAh is expected to support the Galaxy S25 Ultra, and the battery should last through the day. Samsung will also probably use 45W fast charging, allowing the phone to charge quickly and get you back on the go. Wireless charging with Qi2 and MagSafe-like functionality is also expected to be supported.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra will come with One UI 7 that adds AI features and a more refined design. The new Bixby will have a large language model (LLM), and will do more processing on the device. Samsung is also anticipated to support Google’s Gemini Nano LLM, which will introduce new advanced artificial intelligence features in the gadget.
Expect more AI-driven tools and enhancements, including a more responsive and efficient AI assistant, on-device machine learning, and better overall performance. The device will be capable of receiving software as well as security updates for seven years in order to allow the users to take advantage of new features for several years.
The price of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will range from 399,999 PKR to 541,999 PKR approx. across different variants, with regional price variations possible. It will be available for preorder after the launch event and should hit the stores by February 2025.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra is going to be a standout device, and the car crash detection feature is something no other smartphone has. In addition to a modern look, high speed, and a powerful camera, the S25 Ultra will offer users a full set of features for tech lovers and safety-oriented individuals.
Ranging from the use of artificial intelligence in some of its features, enhanced interface, and enhanced charging capabilities, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to set new records for Samsung’s flagship devices in 2025.
