Samsung’s new flagship Galaxy S10 is expected to feature triple camera along with 3D sensor for facial biometric identification.
According to The Investor, market analysts in Korea speculate that the Samsung is planning to equip Galaxy S10 with a triple camera and the 3D sensor for facial biometric verification similar to the Face ID in Apple’s iPhone X.
The Galaxy S10 will also be the first Samsung’s phone to feature a 3D sensor. The three rear cameras are expected to take clear and crisper images with different angles and can be used to enhance phone’s Augmented Reality (AR) capabilities.
According to Kim-Dong Won, an analyst from KB securities, “Samsung, which has a lower-than-expected demand for its latest Galaxy S9 lineup, will consider equipping its next premium phone with the triple cameras and a 3-D sensor to reinvigorate its smartphone business.”
In addition to the triple camera, Samsung is also considering to introduce a virtual fingerprint sensor for the Galaxy S10. The launch date of the phone is expected to be January 2019.

However, this is not a first time a company is introducing a triple camera phone, last month Huwaei released P20 pro with triple lens camera. That handset features a 40-megapixel sensor, along with an 8-megapixel shooter. There’s also a 20-megapixel monochrome camera. Apple is also reported to be developing a triple-lens camera phone as well, although we are not sure when Apple will launch it. Some reports say it won’t arrive until 2019, while others say it will feature on the iPhone X Plus which is expected to be unveiled later this year in September.
