Galaxy Note 8 is Samsung’s most expensive smartphone ever

The Galaxy Note 8 was finally announced yesterday at an event in New York. Given the controversy surrounding the explosions of its previous iteration, Samsung Galaxy Note 7, the Note 8 has the attention of media and consumers throughout the world. One small mistake and the media will instantly pounce to feast on it.

Now the Note 8 is here but its price point is starkly different from the previous models. It is the most expensive Samsung phone ever.

The phone costs $930 in the USA, £869 in UK and AU$1,499 in Australia. This is the first time Samsung has put out a smartphone at such a high launch price. Before it Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus was the first phone to cross the $800 mark of starting price. And for the comparison, The S8 Plus has the same specifications as of Note 8 except for the camera and the S Pen.

So why does Samsung think that you’ll pay a lot more price for a slightly bigger S8 Plus? It might be the water resistant S Pen as according to Samsung, S Pen is the main selling point of Note devices.

For the comparison, here are the specifications and starting prices of all the previous Note devices.
