Samsung Galaxy J8 (2018) spotted in benchmark listings

Samsung Galaxy J-Series is a popular series of South Korean tech giant in emerging markets because of its comparatively low priced and specs loaded smartphones. The Galaxy J1, J3, J5, and J7 models have been the four hits of the smartphone over the past years. They receive upgrades and variants every year, like the last year’s Galaxy J1 Mini Prime, Galaxy J7 Core and Galaxy J7 Pro. There are dozens of J-Series variants launched every year so people get confused about that maybe this the reason the South Korean tech mammoth is the largest smartphones manufacturer.

For now, it looks like the company is going to clear bit of a confusion as the rumors about the upcoming Galaxy J8 2018 have started surfacing. Samsung has started introducing a new digit “8” as it previously did last month with the launch of Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018). It is likely that Samsung is ditching J7 name for its mid-range product and will launch a new smartphone dubbed as Galaxy J8 (2018).

So here’s that catch, a new device from the affordable J series codenamed SM-J720F has recently appeared on Geekbench and GFXBench and logically suggests that a Galaxy J8 (2018) smartphone might be unveiled in a couple of months.

Samsung’ s upcoming Galaxy J8 (2018) is rumored to be featuring Exynos 7885 chipset that comes with octa-core CPU, clocked at 1.6 GHz (technically 1.59 GHz). The specs chart in both benchmarks also reveals that the device’s GPU is Mali G-71 and the RAM is 4 GB. The internal storage of the device with model SM-J720F is 32 GB. The new phone is likely to have a regular 5.5” screen with HD resolution (1280 x 720 pixels).

The back camera of the proposed Galaxy J8(2018) is listed with 12 MP sensor, while the selfie camera will be 8 MP. Both cameras are capable of shooting video in Full HD resolution. The listed operating system is Android 8.0 Oreo. If the alleged Galaxy J8 (2018) comes out before MWC 2018, it might be the first Samsung device with the new OS, overtaking the expected flagship Samsung Galaxy S9.
