Samsung Galaxy A series, S7/S7 Edge to get Android Oreo update

Samsung the world’s largest smartphone manufacturer and sadly, the slowest software update provider, may have finally decided to introduce Android Oreo update to some of its last year’s midrange devices as well as 2016’s flagship models.

As Samsung is done with the Galaxy S8, S8+ and Note 8, Samsung is now preparing Android 8.0 Oreo updates for other smartphones. The Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are surely among the most probable candidates for Android 8.0 Oreo updates, but Samsung plans to introduce the update to some mid-range handsets as well.

A new report by the Android Soil has revealed that the Galaxy S7/S7 edge, Galaxy A5 (2017), and Galaxy A3 (2017), as all well as Galaxy Tab S3 are close to receiving Android 8.0 Oreo updates. All of these devices have been spotted on the website of WiFi Alliance with Android 8.0 on board.

Samsung is showing quite weird behavior in terms of software updates. Even quite recently the company was rumored to be deploying Android Oreo update for Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+ and Note 5 but sadly, the Galaxy S6 series smartphones are not getting any update as Samsung has ended support for security updates of these phones, revealed yesterday.

Aside from the Android updates, Samsung’s Galaxy S9 and S9+ are the talks of the town these days due to the amazing camera features they are bundled with. Meanwhile, Note 9 has recently appeared in its first benchmark test, well this is exciting and embarrassing at the same time as Note 8 devices in most of the regions have yet to receive Oreo juice.
