Rumors have been going around for a while about a 1TB Samsung Galaxy S10+. Well, it turns out they might be true after all! Today, Samsung has announced that it is ready to mass produce 1TB eUFS (embedded Universal Flash Storage) 2.1 and that is a huge deal. Usually, such big announcements are made before the launch of a new flagship smartphone. This time around, it seems like Samsung is suggesting that its Galaxy S10+ model is going to feature the 1TB memory chip.
This year marks Samsung’s tenth Galaxy S anniversary, thus Samsung is bringing its A-game when it comes to design, specs, cameras and battery technology. This makes us reach the assumption that the 1TB eUFS memory chip will be ready in time for the launch of Samsung’s new flagship phones this year. Furthermore, rumors also state that a limited number of Galaxy S10+ devices might ship with 12 GB RAM along with the 1TB eUFS.
The company says that the new memory chip is going to give users a “storage capacity comparable to a premium notebook PC.” Cheol Choi, EVP of Memory Sales and Marketing at Samsung, said, “Samsung is committed to assuring the most reliable supply chain and adequate production quantities to support the timely launches of upcoming flagship smartphones in accelerating the growth of the global mobile market.”
Samsung explained that the 1TB eUFS comes with “exceptional speed, allowing users to transfer large amounts of multimedia content in significantly reduced time.” The new chip provides users with twice the sequential read speed of a typical 2.5 inch SATA SSD drive.
