Samsung delays Galaxy Fold’s launch as the Fold break scandal rises, report

Samsung has postponed the launch of Samsung Galaxy Fold in China and other emerging markets amid Fold break scandal. The South Korean tech giant has delayed the launch event in China, saying that the decision was made due to the last minute issue with the venue of the event, as reported by SamMobile.

But it seems that the venue problem appeared at a very appropriate time as the Galaxy Fold handset was facing severe criticism all week, as a number of review units broke after use of only one or two days.

Samsung last week handed out Samsung Galaxy Fold‘s review units to the tech journalists from renowned global media outlets. But after using it for a day or two, the reviewers started facing issues regarding the display and other features of the new Galaxy Fold.

Previously, Samsung also issued a statement that they would thoroughly inspect the broken units in person to determine the cause of the matter and confirmed that the company will move forward with the Galaxy Fold’s launch event. But today the company postponed the event claiming it to be an issue related to the venue.

A tipster website “Ice Universe” also mentioned in a tweet that two other local activities regarding the launch event have also been canceled, which shows that Samsung may have a more serious issue on its hands, like a hardware defect.

Samsung has not yet revealed the postponed date of the launch event, but we will notify you as soon as the company gives any statement.
