Samsung’s upcoming phablet Galaxy Note 9 has been appearing in leaks and rumors for quite a while now, but nothing was approved by Samsung until now. Samsung’s AI Chief, Gray G. Lee has affirmed that Galaxy Note 9 will come with an advanced artificially intelligent assistant and upgraded UX design with an interactive experience.
We have heard about several hardware improvements in Galaxy Note 9 like the inclusion of triple rear camera system, new S Pen and other upgrades like an in-display fingerprint scanner coupled with a notch on the top in rumors. However, nothing solid regarding software upgrades or interface improvement has come to light until now. While talking Korea Herald, head of the AI Center Under Samsung Research, Gray G. Lee has revealed that Galaxy Note 9 will be powered by artificial intelligence and it will launch alongside Bixby 2.0, Samsung’s virtual assistant first launched with Galaxy S8
Lee didn’t specifically point out the name of the device which will pack this upgraded assistant, however, he indicated that the company’s flagship for the latter half of 2018 is arriving along Bixby 2.0. This further stamps that the launch of Galaxy Note 9 is imminent in the second half of this year.
Furthermore, Lee stated that the Bixby 2.0 will boast “enhanced natural language processes, improved noise resistance capability and quicker response times”. He also revealed that the company is expecting to power as many as 14 million Galaxy handsets with Bixby 2.0. It is likely that we see this upgrade in the Galaxy devices of emerging markets like India and Pakistan as well.
Meanwhile, Ice Universe, the popular leakster, recently tweeted about the interactive new UX design of the Note 9. This comes as an encouraging move as Samsung is said to be working on significant software upgrades as well, considering the delays its Galaxy devices’ owners face for latest Android updates.
