As of January 2, 2025, leading technology companies Asus, Samsung, and MSI have unveiled the industry’s first 27-inch 4K OLED gaming monitors featuring a 240Hz refresh rate. These monitors feature advanced panels from Samsung Display’s fourth generation, providing improved durability over earlier OLED versions.
The Asus ROG Swift OLED PG27UCDM and the MSI MPG 272URX QD-OLED models come with DisplayPort 2.1a (UHBR20), delivering an impressive 80Gbps bandwidth that enables 4K resolution at 240Hz without the need for Display Stream Compression. Samsung’s Odyssey OLED G8 (G81SF) joins this lineup, but specific details regarding its connectivity remain unconfirmed.
The Asus and MSI monitors are equipped with DisplayHDR True Black 400, and Asus also provides Dolby Vision HDR. These models are backed by a three-year warranty that includes burn-in protection. Samsung has not yet disclosed the warranty information for its Odyssey OLED G8.
The Asus model has a 26.5-inch viewable display, while MSI and Samsung offer full 27-inch screens. All three monitors have a high pixel density exceeding 160 PPI and a rapid 0.03ms response time, which improves text clarity and overall visual performance. The pricing and release dates for these monitors have not yet been announced.
