Samsung has announced its own in-display camera smartphone, Galaxy A8s, following the Honor View 20 teaser earlier the same day. Samsung is calling the new display Infinity-O featuring a 6.4 inches screen with a 24-megapixel front camera within the display. While all this sounds good, be prepared for a slight bummer, there is no headphone jack.
In regards to specifications, A8s is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 Octa-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz paired with 6/8GB of RAM. There is only 1 storage variant of 128GB which is expandable to 512GB using microSD card. A8s features a trio camera setup at the back with a 24MP sensor, 10MP sensor with autofocus and a 5MP sensor with a depth sensor. The 6.4 inches display has a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels with a 403 ppi pixel density. The phone has a 3,400 mAh battery which supports adaptive fast charging and it runs Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.
Currently, this phone is available in Blue, Gray and Green colors as you can see in the image above. A8s can be pre-ordered in China up to 21st December but still, there is no word on the pricing of the phone. Judging by the specs, the phone could most probably retail around $400 to $450.
