Registration for Honhaar Scholarship Program ends today: Here’s how to apply online

Maryam Nawaz, the Chief Minister of Punjab, launched the Honhaar Undergraduate Scholarship Program for the talented youth in Punjab Province.

This program provides financial support to students pursuing undergraduate courses in 68 fields at 50 public sector universities, 16 medical institutions, and 131 graduate colleges under the HED.

The government will provide more than PKR 7 billion every year, along with 30,000 scholarships.The program is intended to assist around 120000 students in the next four years, with an investment of more than PKR 130 billion over the next eight years.

Honhaar Scholarship Program eligibility criteria:

The requirements for the Honhaar Scholarship Program are as follows:

  • Domicile Requirement: Must hold a domicile from any district in Punjab.
  • Age Limit: Must not be older than 22 years on the closing date of the application.
  • Family Income:Family’s monthly income should be less than Rs 300,000. and an affidavit verifying the income status is required (sample affidavit can be downloaded).
  • Enrollment: The applicant must have recently enlisted in specific disciplines at specific universities/colleges for the autumn session of 2024.Additionally, students who have recently enrolled in the MBBS and BDS programs in 2024 are eligible.
  • Academic Performance:
    Medical Colleges: Minimum 80% in FSc/Intermediate.
    Top Universities: Minimum 80% in FSc/Intermediate.
    Public Sector Universities:
    For Sciences: Minimum 75% in FSc/Intermediate.
    For Arts and Social Sciences: Minimum 70%.
  • HED Colleges:
    For Sciences: Minimum 65% in FSc/Intermediate.
    For Arts and Social Sciences: Minimum 60%.

Registration process for Honhaar Scholarship Program:

To apply for the Honhaar Merit Scholarship, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the Official Portal: Interested candidates should go to the official registration link on the official website of the Higher Education Department of Punjab Government.
  2. Check Eligibility: Make sure that you qualify for a grant and that your institution is among those institutions recognized to qualify for the grant.
  3. Create an Account: You will have to register on the portal to create your account.
  4. Provide Required Details: After registration, simply sign in and fill out the application with the following details:
    • Personal Details
    • Educational Details
    • Socio-Economic Details
