Razer, an all-time favorite of gamers, is about to take a leap into the smartphone market. Phoneradar spotted a listing of a Razer Phone on GFXBench that boasted some amazing specifications of the upcoming smartphone.
Razer’s intention of producing a smartphone became apparent when they acquired the smartphone maker Nextbit. Razer is knee deep in the gaming world, so it was widely anticipated that their smartphone would be a gaming beast. These expectations have been widely confirmed by the leaked listing.
As per the listing, the Razer smartphone will come with a 5.7” display running on a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels, which is the same as the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. The back camera boasts a 16 MP setup while the front camera is rumored to be of 8 MP. Internal storage is said to be of 64 GB.
The most jaw-breaking reveal, however, is the RAM of the smartphone. Razer will be coupling a Snapdragon 835 processor with 8 GB of RAM!
Needless to say, this will be the first time a smartphone comes with 8 GB of RAM. Most flagships nowadays come with 4 GB RAM, while some exceptions are armed with 6 GB RAM. Seems like Razer is going to be the first one to set sail into previously undiscovered waters!
The amount of RAM makes the claim of Razer making a gaming smartphone very plausible! However, this does not warrant perfection. News coming in claim that the phone will be running a customized version of Android Nougat, so it is safe to say that the OS would be slightly outdated on its release.
An official announcement by Razer regarding the phone is expected on November 1st, thanks to the cheeky teaser by Razer.
