Punjab Police can now access data right on spot via “Punjab Police Toolkit”

Recently, Islamabad Police introduced a QR-based parking technology and now, for the whole Punjab Police, there is a new investigative mobile app developed allowing the investigating officers to fetch and verify the data in real-time. This Android app is developed by Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and named as “Punjab Police Toolkit”.

The app will be accessible to the authorized police officers only. Through ‘Toolkit’, the officers can access all the police-related data just by using their smartphones. As stated, the information retrieval through this system will be in a matter of seconds.

The police officers were trained to use the “Punjab Police Toolkit” to ensure that they make full use of the app in the proper way, without any kind of issue.

On the server side of the application, there is a log being maintained containing a record of each activity done in the system. There is a monitoring feature as well, to monitor all the user requests. Moreover, the monitoring charge can check the stats of the police officers including the number of vehicles checked by the investigator, daily performance and more. By using the dashboard, the monitor can clearly highlight the officers with good statistics. This feature can encourage the officers to perform better to achieve higher stats on next checking.

As reportedly, the project has already benefited the police department immensely. The application has aided in restoring the stolen vehicles. Furthermore, it has contributed to the arrests of several suspicious persons.

One important feature of the Toolkit is that it is in connection with an integrated database, connecting all 36 districts of Punjab.

Speaking of the data, the app offers instant access to 10 basic data sources which are as follows:

  • Phone No.
  • Driving License
  • Criminal Record
  • Vehicle Ownership
  • Stolen Vehicle
  • CNIC
  • Citizen Profile
  • Wanted Persons
  • Guarantor
  • FIR
