After an overwhelming response in the cities of Lahore and Multan, Punjab Govt is now launching the Rasta app for the citizens of Sialkot to facilitate them regarding issues related to traffic or poor quality roads. The app helps citizens in various domains such as registering for a license, paying challans online and register complaints regarding road quality or any other issue.
Rasta is an initiative of Punjab Information Technology Board, which in recent times has been quite active in developing apps related to issues faced by the mass public. Recently they launched a web portal to train judicial staff and alongside that, they have also implemented a robust hospital management system catering to 17 medical institutions in the province. They have also initiated awareness campaigns on the use of IT services throughout Punjab as well.
In regards to Rasta, according to the board, it has been downloaded approximately 183,460 times in the previous 2 cities and it has an average rating of 4.3 stars on Google Play Store based on more than a thousand views, which shows that majority is pleased by the app. The app is also available for iOS users as well. By launching the app in Sialkot, 3 major cities of the province will be covered and users will be able to get their issues resolved timely and in an efficient manner as well as view roadblocks due to sit-ins, protests and so forth.
