Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Shareef has declared that around 20,000 schools in remote areas of the province will be converted to solar energy.
Recently, in a meeting to evaluate the implementation of Khadim-e-Punjab Ujala Program in Lahore, he said that 10,800 schools of Southern Punjab will be firstly shifted to Solar Energy. Many high officials of Education and Power Sector of Punjab government were present at the meeting.
“The project should be completed with transparency, and delay in this regard should not be tolerated anymore,” said CM Punjab while addressing to the participants of the meetings.
Pakistan is a developing country and is seeing a shortage in Power Sector. This step by Punjab Govt. will decrease the load of this sector which ultimately leads to the development of the country. Educational institutes in Pakistan need more projects like these to rank in the list of well-recognized countries in terms of educational developments.
A month ago Punjab Govt. approved Rs. 15 billion projects for rehabilitation of schools under its Khadim-e-Punjab Schools Program. With these funds Punjab Govt. is aiming to construct classrooms in 16 districts of southern Punjab.
Punjab Govt. had also established digital libraries in schools and colleges across the province.
