Punjab CM’s Honhaar Scholarship Program: Here’s What You Need to Know

LAHORE: The Punjab government has introduced the Chief Minister’s Honhaar Scholarship Program, a groundbreaking initiative designed to support bright students across the province.

This program provides comprehensive tuition fee coverage for undergraduate students in 68 disparate fields, such as Engineering, Medical Sciences, IT, and Agriculture, with a budget allocation of Rs130 billion.

The scholarship is designed to guarantee that students who are deserving can pursue their academic goals, irrespective of their financial circumstances. This initiative includes prestigious institutions like LUMS and NUST, which underscores the program’s dedication to educational excellence.

Who Can Apply for Honhaar Scholarship Program?

Applicants must meet the following criteria to qualify for the Honhaar Scholarship Program:

  • Domicile: Must be from any district of Punjab.
  • Age: Applicants should not exceed 22 years on the application deadline.
  • Family Income: Monthly household income should not surpass Rs300,000 (affidavit required).
  • Enrollment: Must be enrolled in an eligible discipline at a recognized university or college for the Fall 2024 session.

Marks Requirement by Institution:

  • Medical & Dental Colleges: 80% or higher.
  • Top Universities (Public & Private): 80% or higher.
  • Public Sector Universities:
    • Sciences: 75% or higher.
    • Arts & Social Sciences: 70% or higher.
  • HED Colleges:
    • Sciences: 65% or higher.
    • Arts & Social Sciences: 60% or higher.

Eligible students can submit their applications online by visiting the official website  honhaarscholarship.punjabhec.gov.pk. This program is a step toward empowering the youth of Punjab by removing financial barriers and creating opportunities for academic growth.
