ISLAMABAD: Mobile and internet services have been temporarily suspended in Islamabad and Rawalpindi ahead of a planned statewide protest by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI).
The Interior Ministry has stated that mobile data and Wi-Fi services will only be suspended in areas with identified security concerns. In other regions, services will continue as usual.
Some cities in Punjab, including Lahore and Faisalabad, have had their internet services turned off. Residents of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, two cities in Pakistan, lost access to the internet and were unable to use many popular applications, including Facebook, YouTube, WhatsApp, and many more.
According to reliable sources, mobile networks and internet services will remain suspended in the area. Additionally, the government has cordoned off the capital to prevent large gatherings and minimize the risk of potential violence.
On November 24, as a result of the PTI protest, mobile phone services in Islamabad would continue to be suspended, according to Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. These steps have been taken by the government to ensure the safety and security of the public.
