PTCL undergoes major network upgrade by providing up to 100 Mbps fiber optic connectivity

There is one thing that the entire world is currently thriving on; connectivity. The ability to connect with someone on the other side of the planet within seconds is a feat that has brought us into a new age; one that is filled with innovative ideas and technological advancements in all sectors. With such developments, businesses and consumers’ need for connectivity has risen. Not just that, the demand for faster and reliable connectivity grows with each passing day.

A successful telecommunication company knows that a satisfied customer is crucial to stay ahead of competitors. Every organization in the telecom industry is now exploring new avenues to innovate and modernize with new technology that can pave the way for the future of businesses. The demand for faster internet is higher than ever as every household is now reliant on a consistent network with unfaltering connectivity.

Companies like Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) have already taken initiative in Pakistan to make sure that the country keeps up its pace with the rest of the world. With millions of users spread across the length and breadth of Pakistan, the organization is undergoing a massive transformation project by the name of Network Transformation Project (NTP) with the intent of satisfying customers.

Jahanzeb Taj, Chief Business Operating Officer, PTCL, commenting on the project said,

“PTCL has invested a considerable amount in this project because the customer is our main priority. Through the Network Transformation Project, customers can now experience high-speed unlimited internet, unlimited data streaming and seamless surfing. We believe that by bringing innovation and state-of-the-art technology, we can fulfill our responsibility in creating a digitally connected Pakistan.”

Under this project, key 100 exchanges across the country are being upgraded. As of now 76 of those exchanges have already been upgraded in 12 cities including Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Hyderabad, Islamabad, Karachi, Wah Cantt, Lahore, Multan, Peshawar, Quetta, Rawalpindi and Sialkot, thus making it possible for the customers to enjoy reliable, high-speed unlimited internet, consequently increasing customer experience. A large customer base has been impacted by NTP across Pakistan and the overall customer complaints have reduced to 43% in the areas where the exchanges have been upgraded.

“I am extremely surprised and impressed with PTCL’s new network, I could not have imagined that they would be providing such high speeds here. I’m glad that they’re running campaigns on this because this is a huge project that people need to be aware of”, said Sehrish Mahmood at PTCL’s on-ground activation at Johar Town exchange in Lahore.

PTCL is upgrading and enhancing its existing copper network as well as introducing a faster and better fiber network throughout the country. Through a transformed network, the organization is providing a faster connection (up to 50 Mbps) with the improved copper network and even more so with the fiber network (up to 100 Mbps).

Hassan Sarwar, a customer at PTCL’s on-ground activation at Cantt exchange in Gujranwala, said, “After experiencing the speed at PTCL’s new network activation, I would say that PTCL is the best option to get as it is not only fast as claimed but is also more economical.”

Under the NTP, the customers can avail 8, 15, 25, 50 and 100 Mbps unlimited internet offered in transformed exchanges with free PTCL calls, unlimited downloads, free PTCL Smart TV and Smart TV App and a free Wi-Fi router. In order for our customers to have a truly digital lifestyle, they can benefit from network transformation by availing value-added services i.e. multiple IPTV, Static IP & Smart Eye (camera recording) through a unique experience.

Considering PTCL is such a large organization, it is crucial that the benefit to the end customer is given priority. NTP shows a customer-centric approach by the company as it endeavors to build a service culture from within. Through the project, customer satisfaction seems to have increased due to a high-quality and seamless internet experience. This has been a major step in the company’s journey to service excellence.

Usman Amar, a customer at I-10 exchange on-ground activation in Islamabad, said, “As customers, it is a very good thing for us to not only have high-speed internet from PTCL but everything else that comes with it like Smart TV service, Smart TV App and Netflix. They have improved a lot over the years and have regained my trust.”

The general business environment of Pakistan is continuously evolving. Telecom companies doing business in Pakistan have to be strong players and should be able to adapt to modern trends and digitization. With the right mindset, focus on customer service quality, and the ability to embrace change projects like NTP can help set a higher benchmark. With a mission of building a digitally connected Pakistan, PTCL is rightly playing its role as the leading internet broadband service provider of the country.
