At a time where COVID-19 pandemic has the world in a frantic and chaotic state, it becomes the responsibility of everyone to provide help in any way possible. Whether it’s in the shape of financial assistance for the deserving people or simply creating awareness on social distancing and other precautionary measures, everyone must play their due role to help battle this crisis.
It is heartening to see that many organizations from across the country have come forward to support the noble cause of providing relief to the people of the country. In fact, the Government of Pakistan has also initiated a Prime Minister’s COVID-19 Pandemic Relief Fund-2020 to help the underserved and combat this virus during these trying times. The need of the hour is that everyone around the country contributes in their capacity for the welfare of the people especially those who are vulnerable in this situation
The telecom sector in particular has been one of the biggest contributors where almost all the companies donated a significant amount to the fund. Two of such companies that made the mark by being socially responsible are PTCL and Ufone, as they presented a cheque of Rs. 100 Million to the Prime Minister of Pakistan for the COVID-19 Relief Fund. This is the largest amount donated by any telecom operator so far, for which PTCL needs to be lauded.
Being the backbone of connectivity, PTCL has also been at the forefront to ensure business continuity across the nation, where over 12,000 of its frontline staff work diligently for this purpose.
The company has also made use of its social media platforms where it continues to provide awareness about the virus and urges people to stay home and stay safe!
Recently the company has embarked upon a massive Ramazan ration drive to provide relief for families affected during the Coronavirus pandemic. The ration drive initiative will be covering 25 cities across Pakistan in the coming days.
The company has time and again proven that it’s committed to stand with the nation and supports the people of Pakistan through any crisis.
