PTCL and Ministry of Science, Technology and IT of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) have signed an agreement to provide Wi-Fi hotspot solutions in University of Peshawar (UoP) and 25 other colleges across the province. The Govt. of KPK is playing a vital role to equip its educational institutes with modern tools of digital connectivity.

PTCL will provide the Wi-fi hotspots for quality internet services to UoP and other colleges. The initiative will enable students and faculty of higher education institutions to get PTCL broadband Internet access over Wi-fi. This will help both university students and faculty members to carry out their research and access digital content related to their academic fields.
The agreement was signed between Syed Ishtiaq Hussain, Chief Planning Officer, Department of ST&IT, Government of KP and M. Suleman Awan, General Manager, Digital Services, PTCL.
While speaking on the occasion Chief Digital Services Officer, PTCL, Adil Rashid said,
“The initiatives are highly commendable and will help transform such key sectors as health, education and information technology. PTCL remains committed to improving the lifestyle and empowering people through its futuristic and diversified products and digital services.”
Mr. Adil also expressed PTCL’s interest in partnering with KPK government for the provision of other ICT initiatives. Both KPK Government and PTCL are looking forward to equipping KPK with advanced ICT services.
KPK Govt. has a special focus on the use of IT and Telecom services by people of KP so that all sectors of the KPK get access to the digital world. KPK officials have trust on PTCL, as this partnership will open new gateways for the digital revolution in KPK.
