ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has streamlined the procedure of registering Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) for organizations and freelancers.
Freelancers and IT workers are likely to gain a lot from this change since it will make using VPNs for business purposes much easier.
Businesses and organizations like software companies, banks, embassies, and freelancers can now simply register their VPNs online through the official website of the PTA.
An online form must be filled out by all applicants, including those from IT firms, freelancers, and the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB). Important facts such as taxable status, company registration credentials, and NIC numbers must also be submitted.
In addition to an IP address for connectivity, freelancers must show evidence of their involvement with a project or firm. Internet service providers can disclose this information to customers who have a static IP address.
Over 20,000 registrations have already been processed by the PTA. Approval is free of charge and usually takes 8 to 10 hours.
As Pakistan’s freelance and IT industries continue to expand, this program represents a major milestone in their support. The PTA is supporting a more trustworthy and secure digital ecosystem by lowering the barrier to entry for virtual private network (VPN) registration, which allows individuals and organizations to engage in online activities securely.
