In a video message, the President of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi, claims that online education programs like Google Career Certificates can open various doors to digital employment opportunities for Pakistani youth.
Therefore, Google recently introduced Career Certificates to provide the Pakistani youth a platform to gain knowledge and learn digital skills for in-demand jobs. The Google Career Certificates offer 15,000 scholarships this year with the help of local partners, including the Institute of Rural Management (IRM) and Ignite National Technology Fund.
According to President Arif Alvi, the digital courses organized by Google and IRM will provide the youth of Pakistan with skills to make their career in the growing fields like cyber security, communication technologies, and blockchain.
Likewise, President Alvi said that this plan would take Pakistan towards digital technology that will reform the world. This plan will also affect business operations, as youngsters can offer their expertise on a global level, which will result in businesses’ fast and effective functioning.
Thus, President urged the youth to take advantage of Google Courses to make their careers. Additionally, he said that the youth would be able to enter various diversified sectors thanks to the digital courses offered by Google and its partners. Such opportunities in Information Technology (IT) can lessen youth unemployment in the country.
Meanwhile, with these digital courses, women can also be essential in upscaling the country’s economy. It is a fact that Pakistan’s ICT sector has observed exceptional growth over the past decade, increasing an average annual revenue growth rate of 20-30%.
Besides, the CEO of SI Global Solutions, Noman Ahmed, said that it is the exact time to benefit from the available opportunities by putting in their sincere efforts and complete dedication. Presently, nearly 4.7% of Pakistan’s labor force works in the ICT sector; out of it, only 6% are women.
Hence, the help of Career Certificates and scholarships will motivate and drive women to pursue and outshine in various technological fields. An ICT analyst Waqas Ghani Kukaswadia at JS Global, said that digital literacy is the foremost to working in a society where we use computers and mobile devices for information transfer.
Everyone from business employees to students must quickly learn to adapt to technology in the modern world which is a necessity for nowadays jobs. Though these courses don’t replace university education, they will help individuals to gain a basic ground-level understanding of their desired field.
Hence, these Google courses will help thousands of professionals and students who aim to level up their earnings while utilizing their spare time after day jobs or studies.
