It is possible in the future that police cars might be able to track your face from the crowd.
Ekin Technologies is working on a technology called “EKIN PATROL” which is a high-tech light bar and can be attached at the roof of police cars. That light bar has facial recognition capabilities and can issue tickets for speeding or wrong parking by reading the number of plates form your automobiles.
The light bar has cameras placed on all four sides to give it a 360-degree view. The creators of this tech say that this 360-degree view will have more advantage on fixed surveillance and also has fewer blind spots. Moreover, the tech can even operate in the night and in bad weather situations.
With a wireless communication device attached inside the bar, one police patrol car will be able to inform other patrol cars about an incident in a particular area. This device is compatible with any vehicle and just has to be plugged in to work to get started.
Facial recognition technology has been around for several years now, even your mobile phone camera has a face recognition ability inside it which helps in unlocking your phone without any password. Different companies like Apple, Facebook, or Microsoft are using facial recognition software in their gadgets as well.
Last year China made a facial recognition technology that scans the student’s behavior in the classroom. It uses a system called “Intelligent Classroom Behavior Management System” and it is being used at Hangzhou No. 11 High School.
To make every city in Pakistan safe, the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications (MOIT) is in the process of developing a face recognition security system which will increase the capabilities of our surveillance system and will help in making Pakistan more secure.
