Pokemon Go is going to permanently ban cheaters

The new update on Pokemon Go is going to permanently ban players who would be indulging in inappropriate game-plays using cheats. Now tricks such as spoofing to falsify location, employing bots or even the usage of modified and unofficial software can get one permanently banned.

A note posted on the Niantic website stated that a permanent ban occur due to the violation of Pokemon Go Terms of Service and could possibly be due to “falsifying your location, using emulators, modified or unofficial software and/or accessing Pokémon GO clients or backends in an unauthorized manner including through the use of third party software”.

Previously, on defying Niantic’s Terms of Services, players used to get temporary bans usually spanning up to the time period of 12 hours.

Pokemon Go is an AR game which requires players to move and physically access locations to catch Pokemon present in augmented reality. But some people were found tempering the game-play using illegal privileges.

Players were found jail-breaking and breaking into the games application bundle to temper the game’s GPS capabilities. This allowed players to virtually access a place and easily catch Pokemon. Some people were also found using emulators to access these locations. Various third-party softwares were being used to find and locate Pokemon while Bots were being used to automate the game-play.

This is the second update which in lines with Niantic’s efforts to stop the illegal game-play. The previous update banned third party applications which aided the game-play and barred the players for a limited time period.

In case if the one banned thinks that the ban could be out of sheer error and that it shouldn’t have been placed, one can apply to Niantic through this form. It is worth mentioning sneaky marketing hacks might not get one banned. If you haven’t yet downloaded the game, follow this guide and get on with the sensation.
