Islamabad: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has granted approval for medical universities across the country to proceed with admissions for the MBBS and BDS programs. A letter has been sent to the provincial medical universities to facilitate the admission process.
The letter states that the provincial public medical universities are required to finalize the admission process and admit students for the 2024-2025 academic year.
According to the PMDC, medical universities are required to follow the Medical and Dental Undergraduate Education Policy Rules of 2023 and the PMDC Act of 2022 when conducting admissions.
The letter also stated that the MDCAT test results of one province would be applicable nationwide, including Islamabad, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
The letter has been sent to the University of Health Sciences Lahore, Liaquat University of Medical Sciences Jamshoro, Bolan Medical and Health Sciences University Quetta, Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University Islamabad, and Khyber Medical University Peshawar by PMDC Registrar Dr. Shaista Faisal.
