The Government of Pakistan has announced to provide 50 thousand internships to the unemployed youth from across the country and Azad Kashmir under Prime Minister’s Youth Training Scheme. The monthly stipend will be Rs.12,000.
Prime Minister’s Youth Program is a revolutionary program for the socio-economic development of youth, in order to deal with the soaring unemployment in the country. These programs include Business Loan Scheme, Training Scheme, Skills Development Program, Laptop Program etc. All of the mentioned programs aim at enabling youth with good employment and giving them access to higher education and IT tools.
Under Prime Minister’s Youth Training Scheme, young individuals from recognized institutions will be provided on-the-job- training/internships at private and public sector offices. The graduates with minimum 16 years of education from HEC approved educational institutions and of age not more than 25 years are eligible to apply.
The minimum threshold for selection of interns is 50 percent marks or a CGPA of 2.5. The graduates with a diploma of 3 years after Matric/FSc, Madrassah graduates and female candidates are also entitled to apply.
The objective of this program is to polish the skills of selected internees during one-year training in any government and private institutions. The training will be offered in all leading private sector firms/bodies and development sector organizations, federal, provincial and local government offices including educational institutions.
