PM Shehbaz to receive digital summaries now under E-Office system

Starting on November 1, 2024, the federal government has mandated that all ministries transmit summaries and files to the office of the prime minister using the E Office system.

Also, the Prime Minister’s office has communicated instructions to the Cabinet division and the Establishment Division concerning the federal government’s E-Government Module (E Office) operationalization.

As of November 1, 2024, the cabinet division must guarantee that E Office is the sole means of receiving summaries and files.

This transition to an electronic office environment reflects the government’s commitment to modernizing its operations and reducing reliance on paper documentation. The government has been actively working to implement the E Office across all federal offices and divisions, to improve communication and workflow.

By moving to a digital system, the government anticipates significant cost savings, estimated at around Rs 2 billion annually, which can be redirected to other critical areas of public service. This initiative not only supports sustainability efforts by minimizing paper usage but also enhances the overall efficiency of governmental processes.
