The Plan9 Launchpad Series came to an end with four finalists from Islamabad making it into Plan9’s 5th Incubation Cycle. The 2-day Launchpad event was held over the weekend at NUST-SEECS with 18 shortlisted teams pitching their ideas on Saturday. Out of these, only 6 qualified for the next round of pitching on Sunday. After a very tight competition, only four got the final ‘yes’ from the judges.
Here are the final four winning ideas selected for Incubation at Plan9:
1) Lithomatic
A first of its kind intra-corporeal lithotripter (Lithotripsy is the use of high-energy shock waves to fragment and disintegrate kidney stones) for Pakistan and the International market with new features and at economical rates.
2) Hajj Guider
A smart tech wrist-band to facilitate Hajj pilgrims in staying connected with each other during pilgrimage, as well as, assist in geo-location and emergencies.
3) Digital Raconteurs
A platform to facilitate Pakistani writers and introduce them to the international market via consulting, designing services and training sessions on writing and publishing.
4) Mezaaj.com
An online retail store showcasing designer wear produced by students and fresh graduates to promote, market and grow new micro-brands.
