PITB launches web portal to train judicial officers and High Court staff

Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) in collaboration with Punjab Judicial Academy (PJA) has launched a dedicated web portal named Learning Management System (LMS), through which 2000 judicial officers and around 20,000 high court staff members will be able to get online training even those who are stationed in remote areas of Pakistan.

Justice Jawad Hassan from the Lahore High Court inaugurated the online training web portal, in the presence of PITB Chairman Azfar Manzoor and PJA Director General Nazeer Ahmad Gajana. Other seniors officials from both departments were also present during the event. Justice Jawad Hassan praised PITB for making great efforts in facilitating judicial academy and other institutions in Pakistan. He also lauded the board’s effort in making the learning and training procedure easier and accessible from anywhere in Pakistan on one click.

Justice Jawad said, “It is our mandate to bring about reforms in the judiciary system and PITB has already played a key role in automating Lahore High Court system”.

PITB Chairman Azfar Manzoor while explaining the working of the management system said that the portal provides an easy self-registration mechanism and a robust reporting mechanism for training and learning of staff members. He added that the system would provide further provide effective assistance in different domains including administration of training programmes, enhanced learning process and helping judicial officers to make effective decisions in no time.

PJA and PITB also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the launching ceremony for further improvements in the LMS portal in the future.

PITB Additional Director General Ms Saima Sheikh explained, “The system would ensure the academy to have a credible benchmark by steaming the process which would resultantly reduce the operational time and effort.”
