PITB develops website to help recover missing children

To counter the spreading layer of child abduction across the province, the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has developed a website to assist the recovery of missing children.

Aiming at reuniting the missing children with their guardians, the website, titled as “Missing Children Recovery” consists of a database which lists the children who have been recovered by the Punjab government in cooperation with the Child Protection and Welfare Bureau, Punjab.

The database includes important identification credentials of the children including the child recovery date, the district, as well as the city of the recovery. The website also lists the child name, and the child’s father name, if known to the authorities. The website also indicates the child’s recovery details if something particular has been found associated with the recovery.

Another important feature of the website is that it hosts the option to share the details of the recovered children on the social media. A recovery helpline of the Child Protection and Welfare Bureau Punjab also has been indicated on the website.
